04/06/2008 :: On Thursday 29 May Norwegian Peoples Aid marked the end of a phase of the mine clearance project in Serbia, Sid municipality, in a presence of NPA Regional Representative Emil Jeremic, Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia Haakon Blankenborg and Director of the Serbian Mine Action Centre Petar Mihajlovic.

Mr. Jeremic thanked the Norwegian Government for assistance. He praised associates from Serbia and Croatia for excellent co-operation during the project. "The greatest achievement of this project is the safety for the people who live here. It makes me happy to see that fields are now cultivated where only short time ago mines were spread, threatening lives of people and animals" stated Mr. Jeremic.

Ambassador Blankenborg congratulated NPA and local partners on a job well done expressing hopes for future co-operation.
